🎬 PART 2: «The Name He Was Never Supposed to Say»

“It was him!”

The boy’s finger locked on the older man beside him.

The whole courtroom seemed to collapse into silence.

The maid’s sob caught in her throat.

The spectators stared in disbelief as the man’s face drained of color, his hand still half-raised from trying to force the child back down.

The boy stumbled one step away from him, breathing hard.

“He pushed her,” he said, voice shaking now, but no less certain. “He pushed her into the cabinet, and when she fell, she told me to run.”

The maid shut her eyes and cried openly.

She had tried to protect him even now.

Tried to let the blame bury her if it kept him safe.

The older man looked around the courtroom, desperate for control, but it was already gone.

“He’s confused,” he snapped. “He’s a child.”

The boy’s lip trembled.

“I’m not confused,” he whispered.

Then he reached into his pocket and pulled out something small.

A button.

Dark, polished, expensive.

The same kind missing from the older man’s sleeve.

“It tore off when he grabbed me,” the boy said.

A murmur broke through the gallery.

The maid looked up in shock, her hands still covering her mouth.

The older man took one step back.

Too late.

The boy’s voice cracked again, but now it came with tears he could no longer hold back.

“She told him not to touch me,” he cried. “That’s why he hurt her.”

That line destroyed whatever distance the room had left.

The maid folded in on herself, sobbing, because the truth was finally standing where she could not carry it alone anymore.

The judge leaned forward.

The spectators were no longer curious now. They were horrified.

The older man tried once more to speak, but nothing strong came out.

The boy looked at the maid, tears running freely down his face.

“You said I had to stay quiet,” he whispered. “But I can’t let them take you away.”

The maid shook her head and cried harder, every part of her breaking under the kindness and courage of a child she had tried to protect.

Then the courtroom officers moved toward the older man.

And for the first time since she had been dragged to the center of that room, the maid was no longer standing there alone.
