🎬 PART 2: «The Mother Waiting Behind the Hospital Doors»

The woman ran.

The nurse hit the emergency alarm and shouted, “Stop her!”

Two orderlies blocked the hallway before she reached the exit.

The boy’s breathing was getting weaker.

Doctors rushed in, working around him as the nurse held his tiny hand.

“You’re safe,” she whispered. “Stay with me.”

His swollen tongue made every breath a fight, but his eyes stayed locked on hers.

The nurse looked down at the hidden note again.

There was a name scribbled in the corner.

Mara Ellis.

The nurse froze.

That name had been on every missing child poster in the city for six months.

A mother searching for her son.

A mother who came to the hospital every Friday asking if anyone had seen a boy with a small crescent scar under his chin.

The nurse looked at the child’s face.

There it was.

The scar.

She grabbed the phone and called security.

“Find Mara Ellis. Now.”

Minutes later, a woman burst through the emergency doors barefoot, soaked from rain, wild with grief.

“My son!” she screamed. “Where is my son?”

The boy heard her voice.

His eyes widened.

The doctors moved aside just enough for her to see him.

Mara collapsed beside the bed, sobbing so hard she could barely say his name.

“Benji.”

The boy’s fingers twitched toward her.

She took his hand and pressed it to her face.

“I knew you were alive,” she cried. “I knew it.”

The woman who brought him in screamed from the hallway, “He’s mine!”

Mara turned, shaking with rage.

“No,” she said. “You stole him because he remembered me.”

The nurse stepped forward with the note in her hand.

“And she kept poisoning him every time he tried to say it.”

Police pulled the woman away as Benji’s breathing finally steadied.

Mara leaned over her son, tears falling onto the hospital blanket.

“You don’t have to remember me all at once,” she whispered. “I’ll remind you every day.”

Benji’s eyes filled.

With all the strength he had left, he squeezed her fingers.

And for the first time since he vanished, his mother heard the sound she had prayed for.

One tiny, broken whisper.

“Mom.”
