The little boy kept crying and pointed at the groom again.
“Mommy said he abandoned us before I was born!”
The guests exploded in whispers.
Phones lifted higher.
The cleaning woman fell to her knees.
“I begged my daughter not to come,” she sobbed. “I told her rich men only love in secret.”
Then a voice came from behind the guests:
“Because that’s exactly what he did.”
Everyone turned.
A young woman stood at the entrance in a cheap dress, tears on her face, rage in her eyes.
The groom looked like he might collapse.
The bride stared at him.
“You know her?”
The woman gave a broken laugh.
“Know me? He got me pregnant… then chose money, status, and this wedding.”
The bride’s face shattered.
But then the woman said the line that destroyed everything:
“He didn’t just leave me.
Your father paid him to erase us.”
Silence.
The bride slowly turned toward her own family table—
and saw that her father wasn’t shocked.
He was terrified.
