🎬 PART 2: «The Name Written on the Back»

“…my father,” the little boy finished.

The widow stopped breathing.

The son looked at him like he had misheard. “What did you say?”

The priest held the paper carefully with both hands as more of the wet ink darkened. The hidden writing became clearer with every second.

The widow’s knees weakened. She clutched the edge of the grave stone to stay upright.

The little boy looked at the coffin, then back at her, eyes full of fear and something even worse—hope.

“My mother told me to come if he didn’t come back to us,” he said. “She said he would be here.”

The son stepped in front of his mother, torn between protecting her and needing the truth.

“Who is your mother?” he asked.

The boy’s lower lip shook. “Elena.”

The widow made a sound that didn’t even feel human. More like grief tearing open all over again.

The son turned to her, stunned. “Mom… Elena was Dad’s nurse.”

The widow’s eyes flooded. “No,” she whispered. “No… she left years ago.”

The priest finally looked down at the rest of the message now visible on the back of the drawing. His face drained of color.

He read it softly, almost afraid to let the words exist.

“If you are reading this, I am gone. Please don’t punish the child. He is yours too.”

Silence swallowed the whole cemetery.

The son’s face broke.

The widow stared at the little boy, really seeing him now—the shape of his eyes, the way he held his breath, the same sadness she had buried with her husband.

The boy took one tiny step closer.

“He said he’d tell you himself,” he whispered. “But he got sick.”

The widow’s anger disappeared like it had never been there. She looked shattered, lost, and suddenly much older.

The son turned away and wiped at his face with shaking fingers.

The priest lowered the wet paper slowly.

And the little boy, standing beside the grave of the man who had promised to come back, asked the question that broke what was left of them.

“So… where do I go now?”
