🎬 PART 2: «The Key Under His Shoe»

The gardener saw the key before the host could hide it.

For one second, they both stood still.

Then the girl behind the glass fell to her knees.

The gardener shoved the host aside and reached for the key, but the host pressed his shoe down hard.

“She’s ruining the event,” he hissed.

That was all the gardener needed to hear.

He grabbed the man by the arm, pulled him back, and snatched the key from the floor.

The door opened with a sharp click.

Hot air spilled out.

The little girl was curled beside a row of orchids, one hand weakly reaching for the inhaler on the tiles.

The gardener dropped beside her.

“I’ve got you,” he said, voice shaking.

He helped her open it. One breath. Then another.

Her chest rose.

The guests stood frozen, their champagne glasses useless in their hands.

The host backed away, pale now.

The girl looked at the gardener with wet eyes.

“He locked me in because I spilled juice,” she whispered.

A woman in the crowd began to cry.

The gardener turned slowly toward the host.

“You locked a child in a greenhouse during an asthma attack?”

The host had no answer.

The little girl clutched the gardener’s sleeve as her breathing finally steadied.

And in a room full of beautiful flowers, everyone saw the ugliest thing there was not the spilled juice.

It was the man who smiled while a child begged for air.
