🎬 PART 2: «The Promise That Broke in Front of Everyone»

The man in the blue tuxedo couldn’t speak.

His hand was still stretched toward Oliver, but the child wouldn’t let go of the maid.

“Mommy,” Oliver said again, softer this time.

The maid closed her eyes as if the word both saved her and destroyed her.

The woman in red turned to the man.

“What is this?”

The guests began whispering.

The man swallowed hard.

“She was his nanny.”

The maid looked at him, heartbroken.

“Don’t lie again.”

The room went cold.

The woman in red stepped back.

“Again?”

The maid held Oliver tighter, her hands shaking against his little back.

“I gave birth to him,” she whispered. “And you made me wear a uniform so no one would ask why he had my eyes.”

The ballroom froze.

The man’s face went pale.

“You agreed.”

The maid’s lips trembled.

“You said if I told anyone, you would take him away forever.”

Oliver looked up at her, confused and frightened.

The woman in red slowly removed her engagement ring.

“You asked my son to choose a mother,” she said to the man. “And he did.”

The maid tried to stand, but her knees shook.

Oliver wiped her tears with his tiny hand.

The man looked around at the crowd, losing control of the perfect life he had staged.

The maid finally lifted her chin.

“I kept your secret because I wanted him safe,” she said. “But he found me anyway.”

Oliver buried his face in her shoulder.

And in front of everyone, the child chose the mother money had tried to hide.
