🎬 PART 2: «The Name He Never Forgot»

The man stared at Ethan like the air had been knocked out of him.

Lily looked between them, her small face tightening with confusion.

“Daddy… why are you crying?”

He hadn’t even realized his eyes had filled.

Anna.

A name he had not heard in seven years.

The name of the woman he had once loved before life split in two and everyone told him she had left the city, pregnant and angry, never wanting to see him again.

His voice came out rough.

“How old are you, Ethan?”

The boy gripped the paper bag tighter.

“Six.”

Lily blinked.

“I’m six too.”

The man closed his eyes for one second, as if he was trying to survive the truth before speaking it out loud.

Across the plaza, a tired woman in a work apron came rushing toward them, breathless, alarmed.

“Ethan!”

The boy looked up.

“Mom.”

The man turned.

The moment her eyes met his, she stopped cold.

Her lips parted. Her hand flew to her mouth. Pain, shock, and years of silence passed between them in one look.

Lily stepped closer to Ethan.

“Is that your mommy?”

Ethan nodded.

The woman’s eyes dropped to Lily, then lifted back to the man. Her voice trembled.

“You brought her here?”

He shook his head slowly.

“No,” he whispered. “They found each other.”

Lily reached for Ethan’s hand without hesitation.

The little boy looked scared, but he didn’t pull away.

Then, in a tiny voice, Lily asked the question neither adult was ready for:

“If he has my nose… and your eyes…”

She looked up at her father.

“…is he my brother?”
