🎬 PART 2: «The Reason He Wasn’t Afraid»

The lobby went so quiet everyone could hear the fluorescent lights humming.

The intruder turned toward the glass doors.

His confidence cracked the second he saw the shadows outside.

“How did they get here?” he snapped.

The boy didn’t answer.

His eyes dropped to the floor.

Beside the counter, a woman was lying still with one hand stretched toward him.

His mother.

The bank manager.

Her lips trembled as she whispered, “Ethan…”

The intruder turned back.

The boy’s face was pale now, but he kept standing.

“My mom told me what to do,” he said quietly.

The intruder looked confused.

Ethan lifted his wrist.

A small watch screen glowed under his sleeve.

“My dad gave me this before he died. One button calls everyone.”

The people on the floor stared at him.

His mother began to cry silently.

The intruder stepped back, panic taking over.

Outside, a voice through a speaker ordered everyone to stay still.

Ethan finally looked scared.

Not for himself.

For his mom.

He turned toward her with wet eyes and whispered,

“I did it right, Mom?”

She nodded, unable to speak.

And as the doors flooded with flashing red light, Ethan dropped to his knees beside her, shaking for the first time.
