Part 2: The silence in the lobby became unbearable.

The older man stepped forward like he couldn’t feel the ground under his feet.

“What did he just say?” he asked, staring at the boy.

The poor mother clutched her son tighter, terrified.

“I never wanted this,” she whispered. “I only came because he’s sick.”

The rich woman suddenly shouted:

“She’s lying! Throw them out now!”

But the nurse didn’t move.

She kept staring at the bracelet.

Then she looked at the older man and said quietly:

“The child’s surname matches the name in a sealed birth record from this hospital… a file that was hidden twenty years ago after your son’s baby was reported dead.”

Gasps spread through the lobby.

The older man’s face went white.

“My grandson died at birth,” he said.

The poor mother started crying.

“My mother worked here as a cleaner,” she whispered. “Before she died, she told me if my son ever became ill… I had to bring him here. She said this hospital owed him his life.”

The rich woman took a step back.

“No…” she breathed.

The nurse opened the old emergency file on the computer with shaking hands.

The room froze.

Same date.
Same family name.
Same blood type.
Same hidden mark noted on the infant’s shoulder.

The nurse looked up slowly.

“He was never dead,” she said.

The older man turned toward the rich woman in horror.

And then an elderly doctor, who had been standing silently near the elevator, spoke with a broken voice:

“She paid to switch the baby.”

The poor mother collapsed into tears.

The boy reached again for the older man and whispered:

“Grandpa…”

And in front of the whole hospital, the family’s buried secret came back alive.
