🎬 PART 2: «The Name He Tried to Forget»

The rich man gripped the photo so tightly it bent in his hand.

“Grace,” he whispered.

The name came out like pain.

The boy stood there holding the flute against his chest, trying not to cry, trying not to lose courage now that he had come this far.

The guests had gone completely silent.

Years ago, Grace had worked in one of the man’s family businesses. He had fallen in love with her in secret, promised her everything, then vanished when his father found out and forced him to choose between love and inheritance.

He had been told later that she left town.

He had never known she was carrying his child.

“Where is she?” he asked, voice breaking.

The boy pointed toward the road beyond the garden gates.

“In a car,” he whispered. “She’s too weak to walk.”

The man pushed back his chair so fast it scraped hard across the stone.

A few guests stood up now, stunned.

The boy looked at him with trembling hope.

“She didn’t want me to come,” he said. “But she kept coughing blood. She said if I played for you first… maybe you would listen.”

The man’s whole face shattered.

He took one step closer and looked at the boy properly now.

The same eyes.

The same mouth.

The same stubborn sadness Grace used to hide when she was trying not to cry.

“What’s your name?” he asked softly.

The boy swallowed.

“Daniel.”

The man shut his eyes for one broken second.

That was the name they had chosen together years ago, lying in bed and talking about a future he had been too weak to fight for.

When he opened his eyes again, they were full of tears.

The boy held out the flute.

“She made this for me,” he whispered. “She said you used to love when she played.”

The man took it with shaking hands.

Then he dropped to his knees in front of the child, right there beside the elegant luncheon table, no longer a rich man protecting his image, just a father seeing what he had lost.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered.

The boy’s lip trembled.

“She said if you cried,” he said softly, “I should believe you still loved her.”

The man let out a shattered breath.

Then he stood, took the boy’s hand, and said the only thing that mattered now.

“Take me to Grace.”
